Aaj Ka Ravan (transl. Today's Devil) is a 2000 Indian Hindi-language action film directed by Imran Khalid and produced by Surendra Srivastava. It is a revenge drama, with Mithun Chakraborty in the lead role. The film was released on 29 September 2000.
Plot summary
The film revolves around Shankar (Mithun Chakraborty), a journalist who exposes the illegal arms deals and crimes of Vishdhar Nath (Mohan Joshi), a powerful underworld don. Shankar is betrayed by his friend Subhash (Vinod Kulkarni) who works for Nath, and is arrested by a corrupt police inspector (Tej Sapru) on false charges of possessing explosives. Shankar is tortured in custody and then shot by Nath's men when he tries to escape. He survives with the help of Shanti (Indira Krishnan), another journalist who considers him as her brother. Shankar decides to take revenge on Nath and his associates by becoming a vigilante. He is pursued by Inspector Vikram (Siddharth Dhawan), who loves Shanti and wants to bring Shankar to justice. Shankar also falls in love with Mona (Meenakshi), a dancer who works for Nath.
